Dr. Sarah Beth Eriksen
Dr. Sarah Beth Eriksen is a board-certified pediatrician and one of the nation’s first physicians certified in breastfeeding and lactation medicine. After a decade of caring for families in both private practice and community health settings, she founded Flow: Tennessee’s Center for Breastfeeding Medicine to change the way care is delivered in the early days of life.
Originally from rural Douglas, Georgia, Dr. Eriksen grew up with a deep appreciation for the importance of community and connection values that shape the way she practices medicine today. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science from Furman University and went on to receive her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, where she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her pediatric residency training in Greenville, South Carolina, where her passion for supporting families in the postpartum period first took root.
As a mother, physician, and advocate, Dr. Eriksen understands firsthand the joys and challenges of welcoming a new baby. She has dedicated her career to creating a model of care that meets families where they are combining medical expertise with compassionate guidance to support both parent and baby as patients. Through Flow, she brings together the science of lactation, the art of attachment, and a deep respect for the sacred work of early parenting.
